“He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” (Psalm147:3)
We are a 501 C3 ministry of Chaplains that provide “Comfort & Care” to “All” who may be suffering from various traumas in Custer County.
The Custer County “Core” of Chaplains, was created to represent the “Core,” or Center of God’s Heart. Serving from the Center or “Core” of God’s Heart is the key ingredient.
CCCC/ERC, is a non-profit ministry providing a specialized group of chaplains trained to assist in the healing process by supporting our everyday heroes. We are striving to “Serve those who serve us.” and to provide “Comfort and Care” to these public servants and those whom they serve. Our Military Veterans are at the top of our list of heroes!
OUR MISSION:
CCCC/ERC is a faith based ministry of Chaplains and Board of Directors with one main function: To serve the needs of the emergency service sector within Custer County as well as the general public. These volunteer Chaplains and Board Members are carefully selected and prepared to demonstrate God’s compassion and to share God’s hope through the One who, “heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
Our “Core” of Chaplains and Board of Directors also desire to work alongside all local Military War Veterans, the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Custer County Fire Department, EMS, Search & Rescue, Sheriff’s Posse, Custer County Coroner, and the Custer County Medical Clinic when needed or requested.
The Core provides both on-scene and behind-the-scene care with an emphasis on critical incident stress assistance. Our Chaplains can assist the community and Emergency Service in all areas where danger and or injury may exist, while breaking the silence of grief, asking the tough questions, and being sensitive to the intense feelings of shame and guilt that accompany suicidal thoughts.
Our services provided by CCCC/ERC are offered regardless of religious affiliation or lack thereof.
Our Chaplains provide on the spot care by providing Critical Incident Stress Management treatment .
SUPPORT SERVICES :
This ministry is in the process of building an Emergency Benevolence Fund for our emergency responders and their families. Medical emergencies with the possibility of loss of life may befall responding Heroes from time to time, and the Core wants to provide financial relief for them.

CIVILIAN FIRST RESPONDERS & WAR VETERANS REALITY:
They are exposed to highly stressful situations in the course of their routine duties.
They have no control over the type or volume of calls/assignments that they may receive.
They are often put in situations where they face overwhelming challenges and demands.
They risk being seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
They will likely witness a peer being injured or killed in the line of duty.
They sometimes witness horrifying events involving death upon arrival. Some injuries can and have led to the death of the individual (s) at scene.
Facing these daily challenges, while fighting to ensure public and national safety, can have traumatic and lasting damage on the lives of first responders, Medical Staff, Veterans and their loved ones. In many cases, they sacrifice their physical and emotional well-being as well as their personal relationships with spouses, children and other family members. Anxiety, depression, Post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD, substance abuse by self medicating and suicide are all dangers these men and women may be subjected to even as they fight to keep us safe and out of harm’s way every day. They are “OUR HEROES”!
